Cost database: formulas
A formula turns measured dimensions into a quantity. The language is only + − × ÷ and parentheses.
Open Formulas. Each formula has a name, an expression, and named parameters with units and a sample value.
The live preview uses those sample values. It is not your project quantity.
The formula assistant can draft an expression from a sentence. Review it. Nothing is stored until you save.
Formulas do not write money. They only compute a quantity the bill can reuse.
Examples
Concrete volume
Expression: length * width * depth. Parameters length, width, depth in m, samples 10, 0.600, 1. The preview shows 6.000. On a job the takeoff supplies the real length.
