Schedules of works

A schedule of works is a written description of the job, structured in your firm’s headings. It is not the priced bill.

Open the project → Schedules of works. Create a document from a firm template (Settings → Templates) or start a blank structure.

Fill sections and items in sentence case, the way you would issue them to a contractor. On a draft, rename a category from the pencil. Drag a category handle — or focus the handle and use the arrow keys — to reorder siblings; they are renumbered to stay consecutive. Issued documents cannot be restructured.

You can link a schedule to an estimate so descriptions and the bill stay in step. Linking does not copy money onto the schedule.

Issue the schedule when it is ready to send. Issued copies are revisions, like reports.

Examples

  • Domestic refurbishment

Pick your “Domestic refurb” template. It already has preliminaries, strip-out, and finishes. You write the project-specific items under those headings. The priced BoQ stays on Estimates & BoQ.
