Estimates and bills of quantities
An estimate is a priced bill. You add lines, pull quantities from takeoff, and issue when it is ready to share.
Open the project → Estimates & BoQ. Create an estimate and choose a framework (NRM2, NRM3, or a firm template).
The bill is a tree of sections and items. Add lines by hand, pull accepted takeoff quantities, or review AI-suggested lines. AI lines are suggestions. They do not enter the bill until you accept them. On a draft, drag a line's handle — or focus the handle and use the arrow keys — to move it above or below another line in the same category. Draft categories can be renamed from the pencil; drag a category handle (or use the arrow keys on it) to reorder siblings — they are renumbered to stay consecutive. Issued documents cannot be restructured.
A line can carry a direct rate or a build-up (materials, labour, plant, subcontract). See the cost buildup guide for how a rate is made.
Save a version before a big change. You can restore a version without destroying the current draft.
Issue the estimate to lock it for the client portal and for tender. Issuing does not delete the draft history.
Examples
From takeoff to a line
You accepted 14.400 m³ of excavation on the strip foundation. On the bill, add or accept the excavation item and link that takeoff quantity. The line quantity is 14.400, as a decimal string, not a rounded guess.
